Palmer announces Japanese GP will be his last with Renault 

Today, Jolyon Palmer has announced that tomorrow’s Japanese Grand Prix will be his last with Renault Sport Formula One team, with Carlos Sainz expected to fill his seat from the United States Grand Prix.

It was previously announced that Palmer was being replaced by Carlos Sainz for the 2018 season however the Brit is leaving sooner than that. 

Many rumours flew around that Palmer was to be replaced and today they came true.

Palmer has endured a difficult season with many fans saying he didn’t deserve the seat.

So… What happens next? Who will replace Palmer?

Renault have Sainz contracted for 2018, could he arrive early? Could Kubica make his remarkable return? Could Sergei Sirotkin get his chance or will development driver Oliver Rowland make the switch from F2 to F1?
All will be found out in due course…
