Belgian Grand Prix – All you need to know

Today, (27th August 2017) as you may or may not know was the Belgian Grand Prix.

Before the race:

18-year-old Mick Schumacher, Son of Michael Schumacher followed in the footsteps of his father as he drove the legendary Spa track in a 1994 Benetton to mark the 25th anniversary of his father’s first 1st formula 1 win

Mick, who is trying to follow in his father’s footsteps, said he “didn’t hesitate for a second and didn’t have any doubts” about doing the demonstration laps.

“When I heard the car would drive here, I was straight away on for it and just wanted to do it,” he told a BBC Sport interviewer “I am happy I have done it now.”

After the race:

After 44 laps at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps the winner in his 200th Formula 1 race was Lewis Hamilton adding this win to his 58 other grand prix victories.

“I told you what I was here for, And I wasn’t leaving here without it.” said Hamilton after winning his fifth race this season. The Mercedes driver started the race after a recorded 68 top grid position on pole in the qualifying yesterday matching that of Michael Schumacher’s.

The podium positions following the race are as follows:

1st Hamilton

2nd Vettel

3rd Ricciardo

Hamilton doesn’t fail to impress with not only his skills and talent for racing but also his fashion sense. He changed out of his race overalls after finishing the race into a pair of off the shoulder black dungarees that he has said to have purchased on his recent trip to New York.

Today was an eventful day but it will just add to the history of F1.

I for one cannot wait for next weekends Italian Grand Prix, can Sebastian Vettel take victory infront of the Tifosi?!
